Fashion has always been on the forefront of innovation with projects playing around with versions of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and 3D Scanning — and this project is no different. The collaboration features 8 dynamic NFTs, purchased to be used in the new interactive metaverse game by ALTAVA, Worlds of You.
Olivier Rousteing, the house of Balmain's creative director, has spent the last decade building on the house's outstanding legacy, a blueprint by Pierre Balmain. The outcome is a distinct Balmain silhouette, style, and attitude that pays homage to the house's ateliers, while also celebrating the house's historic Parisian legacy — founded more than 75 years ago. Though still remaining true to his own creative execution to design clothes that reflect the way his inclusive, powerful and global Balmain Army wishes to live today.
To bring this exceptional NFT collection to life, Balmain collaborated with the gaming company ALTAVA in honour of Creative Director Olivier Rousteing's 10-year anniversary with Balmain. The collection is inspired by travel's remarkable ability to open minds, uplift spirits, and bring people together who have been separated. We present a virtual futuristic and space-inspired collection, exclusively from the runway, to motivate us to “always dream big, remain optimistic and consider all possibilities” as we move forward.
In the virtual world created by ALTAVA, owners of the 8 unique NFTs from the F/W 2021 collection benefit from being able to wear the pieces and customize their characters in the game. The owner of the NFT will be able to unlock their unique runway piece and can either sell or trade on ALTAVA Market (launching in October) for another NFT exclusive item, and eventually become interoperable across the metaverse.
The auction commences on October 4th and will be held on Featured by Binance until October 12th 3:00 PM CET.
